My name is Marco Boetti and I’m an Italian graphic designer and illustrator

with outstanding digital and manual skills, based in Barcelona since 2006.

I have been passionate about drawing since very young (you can ask my mother how many draws I was hanging on the walls of my room) and I decide to make it my occupation.

I studied architecture design school in my own town, where I practice a lot of technical drawing, not exactly my style, but I learned a lot about drawing geometric shapes, shadows and lights, proportions, prospectives, and depth.

In 2000 I moved to Turin (Piemonte, IT) where I studied at I.A.A.D. -Istituto d’ Arte Applicata e Design- where I get introduced to the graphic design world.

After school, I started to work as a stage in an agency in Turin city and after a couple of years, I decided to move to Barcelona where I started to work in a French graphic design agency.

I didn’t feel completely realised as a generalist graphic designer and I had this feeling that I could do so much more.

I always had been fascinated by illustrations, anytime I was contemplating an illustrated artwork I was asking myself: how do they do it ?

So I started to investigate and to take online classes from those illustrators artists that inspired me and I turn myself into a freelance illustrator.

I will never be tired of learning new techniques and acquire new graphics results and live in a world that is continually evolving, in the last years I learned about motion graphics, to go hand in hand with illustrations and to give life to my artworks and photos.

About my personal life, my first big passion, which influenced me as a graphic artist as well, had been skateboarding; those 90’s Rock &Roll style skateboard graphics literally changed my life.

Apart from this, in my free time, I’m a travel addicted, wild life and ocean lover, and for this reason I started to get passionate about photography and video editing (you can check my personal Instagram @marcoboetti) that go along with my visual art knowledge and experience.

So, in few words, what I do go from general graphic design like logos, branding, packaging, flyers… to illustration and motion graphics that are obviously my workhorse. Apart from that, I add photo and video editing as a plus.

The programs I use to work with are Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, After Effect, Premiere and Lightroom.

I used to work in international environments as I speak 5 languages: Italian, English, Spanish, French and Dance.

Me llamo Marco Boetti y soy un diseñador gráfico e ilustrador

italiano residente en Barcelona.

Soy apasionado del dibujo desde muy joven (puedes preguntarle a mi madre cuántos dibujos colgué en las paredes de mi habitación) y decidí convertirlo en mi ocupación.

Estudié en la escuela de diseño de arquitectura en mi propia ciudad, donde practiqué dibujo técnico, no exactamente mi estilo, pero aprendí mucho sobre el dibujo de formas geométricas, sombras y luces, proporciones, perspectivas y profundidad.

En 2000 me mudé a Turín (Piemonte, IT) donde estudié en la IAAD -Istituto d ‘Arte Applicata e Design- donde me introdujeron en el mundo del diseño gráfico. Después de la escuela, comencé a trabajar como stageista en una agencia en la ciudad de Turín y después de un par de años, decidí mudarme a Barcelona donde empecé a trabajar en una agencia de diseño gráfico francesa.

No me sentía del todo realizado como diseñador gráfico generalista y tenía la sensación de que podía hacer mucho más. Siempre me habían fascinado las ilustraciones, cada vez que contemplaba una obra ilustrada me preguntaba: ¿cómo lo hacen? Entonces comencé a investigar y a tomar clases on line de esos ilustradores que me inspiraron y me convertí en un ilustrador freelance.

Nunca me cansaré de aprender nuevas técnicas y adquirir nuevos resultados gráficos y como vivimos en un mundo en continua evolución, en los últimos años aprendí sobre motion graphics, para acompañarlo de la mano con la ilustración y para dar vida a mis artworks y fotos. Sobre mi vida personal, mi primera gran pasión, que también influyó mucho como artista gráfico, ha sido el skateboarding, el patin a 4 ruedas.

Esas gráficas de patines al estilo Rock & Roll de los años 90, literalmente cambiaron mi vida. Aparte de esto, en mi tiempo libre soy un adicto a los viajes, a la vida salvaje y el océano, y por eso comencé a apasionarme por la fotografía y la edición de videos (puedes chequear mi Instagram personal @marcoboetti) que van de la mano con mi conocimiento y experiencia en artes visuales.

En pocas palabras, lo que hago va desde el diseño gráfico general como logotipos, branding, packaging, flyers … hasta la ilustración y el motion graphic que obviamente son mi caballo de batalla.

Aparte de eso, añado edición de fotos y videos como un plus. Los programas con los que trabajo son Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, After Effect, Premiere y Lightroom.

Suelo ​​trabajar en entornos internacionales ya que hablo 5 idiomas: italiano, inglés, español, francés y baile.
